Wayne Alvin Rice, 84, husband of the late Mary Sue Rice and a resident of Craddockville, VA, passed away Monday, August 11, 2025, at his residence. A native of Craddockville, he was the son of the late John Rice and the late Gladys Dunton Rice Wallace. He was a lifetime member of the Exmore Moose, a deacon of Exmore Baptist Church, and a US Army Veteran.
Wayne is survived by two daughters, Sharon Kay Albin and her husband, James of Wachapreague, and Brenda Tyson and her husband, Steven of Melfa; and five grandchildren, Kristina Guy (Jon), Kyle Fitchett, Cole Tyson, Connor Tyson, and Nicholas Tyson; a brother, JW Rice and sister, Barbara Elliott.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, August 16, 2025, at 11:00 AM, at Exmore Baptist Church, with Reverend Jonathan Carpenter officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Belle Haven Cemetery. Family will join friends at Doughty Funeral Home Friday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 PM. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Exmore Baptist Church 11624 Occohannock Road Exmore, Virginia 23350.
