A celebration of Wayne's life will be held at 1:00 on Monday, July 14, 2025, at the Ballard Funeral Home in Cody, Wyoming. Wayne was born on October 14,1936 to Paul and Mary (Ashby) Ringler. Although he was born in West Virginia, Wayne was always a cowboy at heart. One of the earliest horses he owned was named Bill. Bill was a flashy tricolored paint who could run like the dickens and was a family favorite. Other horses that Wayne especially enjoyed were Jingle Bob, Clinton, Grey Dog and an Appy named Beau. In his late teens, Wayne left home to work in the steel mills in Whiting, Indiana. While in Indiana, Wayne met a pretty girl at the roller-skating rink, and it wasn't long until Connie Masters became Mrs. Wayne Ringler. From this union Jami, Sonia, Dewayne, Natalie, Mark, Shane and Clinton were born. The family moved back to West Virgina for a short while before packing their bags and embarking on a grand adventure to the wild west. Settling in Cody, Wyoming in 1976, Wayne went to work on Bear Creek for the Hoodoo Ranch. He cowboyed at several ranches including the HD, the Switchback, West Pass and the Arapaho. The Arapaho was one of the few ranches that ran a wagon during fall roundup, so Wayne was truly in his element there. Later, Wayne married Cathy Howe and added Cody, Cole, Casi and Cadi to the family. Wayne also loved his iron horses and could often be seen riding around town in his black leathers and a Tom Mix style cowboy hat. He rode his beloved Harley well into his eighties. On April 25,2002, Wayne married Dorris (Dolly) Lubic and together they enjoyed their horses, dogs and the western way of life. During his years in Cody, Wayne guided hunters, built saddles and even posed for western artist James Bama. He loved his family and his friends, his horses and his dogs, but through it all, Wayne loved the west. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Mary Ringler, former spouse, Connie Ringler, his sisters Helen Burich, and Francis Rogers and brothers Norman Ringler and Lindsey Ringler. He is survived by his wife Dolly Ringler; children Jami Peterson, Sonia Shraudner, Dewayne (Donna) Ringler, Natalie (Ken) Evans, Mark (Eva) Ringler, Shane (Lynn) Ringler and Clinton (Sassy) Ringler; sisters, Anna Poe, Carol Mohler, Betty (Stanley) Roach, Ruthie (Larry) Gerkin; brothers Dana (Kay) Ringler and Von (Cathy) Ringler, as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Memories and condolences can be shared on Wayne's memory page at www.BallardFH.com. There is also a link there to connect to the Live-Stream of the service.
