Mr. Kenneth E. Ringler, age 90, of Gloversville, died October 8, 2025 at Fulton Center in Gloversville, with his loving companion, Katherine A. Stefka, by his side.
He was born October 8, 1935, in Gloversville, the son of the late Otto and Anna (Parker) Ringler. Kenneth served in the U.S. Army during the Korea & Vietnam Wars, from May 18, 1953, until April 30, 1961. On October 13, 1956, he married Mary Ellen Wager; and they shared many happy years together until her passing on January 12, 2002.
After his discharge from the Army, Kenneth was employed for 13 years in the leather industry and then employed as a custodian for the Gloversville Enlarged School District until his retirement. He also volunteered as an instructor for the Juniorate Drill Team for 20 years. He was a resident of Gloversville for many years before moving to Broadalbin in 2006 and then back to Gloversville in 2011.
Kenneth was a member of the Broadalbin American Legion Post #337, and a former member of the Johnstown Moose Club and the VFW Post #8690 of Broadalbin. He was a member of the 27th Division Post #16.
Survivors include his beloved companion, Katherine A. Stefka; one daughter: Sue Ellen Sofka; one grandson: Fred Sofka III; one granddaughter: Jessica Sofka; one great granddaughter: Milania Jade; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved cat, Acorn.
Honoring Kenneth Ringler wishes, he chose not to have a funeral service, cremation will take place at Parkview Crematory. An urn burial will take place in Ferndale Cemetery.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Betz, Rossi, Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville, NY.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Broadalbin American Legion Post #337, 19 N. Main Street, Broadalbin, NY 12025 or to a charity of one's choice.
