Wayne P. Schaut, age 88, passed away from his battle with Parkinson's on January 18, 2026 with his family by his side. He was born on January 10, 1938 in Green Bay to the late Leo and Matilda (Vandenput) Schaut. He joined the US Air Force and served honorably in Korea, Japan, Okinawa, and the Philippines receiving a good conduct medal.

Wayne married the love of his life and best friend Judith "Judi" Heroux on September 15, 1962 at St. Francis Cathedral. They were blessed with 63 years of marriage, where they spent time together up north pontooning, traveling, and wintering in South Padre. He worked at Northwest Engineering and Amplas and was a member of American Legion Post #0011. Wayne was a devout Catholic, faithfully serving the Nativity of Our Lord Parish, where he and Judi attended for over 50 years. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, fishing, dominoes, and the time spent with his Packer parking friends. He was dedicated and loving to his family, always giving the best advice, supporting anyone that he could at any time. He was truly the best husband and dad that anyone could ask for. His kindness, generosity, gratefulness, and dependability will be deeply missed.

Wayne is survived by his loving wife, Judi Schaut, their two beautiful daughters, Kayln Schaut (fiancé Dwayne Schmidt), Kelli (Neil) VanLanen, a special granddaughter Melissa (Tyler) Gigot, a sweet great-grandson Emmett and an adorable great-granddaughter Collins. He is further survived by his brother, Norel (Carole) Schaut, and many nieces, nephews, godchildren, and friends.

Wayne is reunited in Heaven with his grandson, Jacob VanLanen, once again sharing their special bond. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Matilda, his mother and father in law, Luke and Beatrice Heroux, his sister, Muriel (Fred) Martin, his brother-in-law, Norbert Heroux, and his sister-in-law, Glynes (Harold) Frechette.

Wayne's visitation will be held from 9:00 am to 11:00 am on January 31, 2026 at Nativity of Our Lord Parish (2270 S Oneida St, Green Bay). With Fr. Matt Simonar officiating the Mass at 11:00 am. Military Honors by the Air Force will be held after Mass.

The family would like to thank the Unity Hospice Team and the staff of Edenbrook for their compassionate care, comfort, and support. And for David Frechette and everyone else for their time spent with Wayne.
