Daniel C Schaut, 62, formerly of Aurora WI, loving Father, Husband, Brother, and Son; died suddenly from a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis & various other medical conditions on 17 November, 2024, at his home in Utah. He was born in September 1962, in Amarillo, Texas, the fourth son of Retired Air Force Master Sergeant Duaine and Fran (Chrisman) Schaut of Aurora, WI.

 Dan graduated from Florence High School in 1980 and enlisted in the Marine Corps at 18. He married the former Sharon Hendrickson of Iron Mountain, MI. in October, 1986 after completing his initial military tour. He was a well decorated combat veteran and Retired Army Sergeant First Class. He served his first 3 years in the Marine Corps, and his last 17+ years in the Army where he served in the Gulf War, Africa, and the Iraq (OIF-1) War. He also served in many different peacetime locations while on Active Service. Dan worked for the US Forest Service from early 2005 until late 2008 when he retired. He was a Life Member in The Disabled American Veteran’s (DAV), The Veteran’s of Foreign Wars (VFW), The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation (RMEF), The North American Hunting Club (NAHC), Buck Masters, and The National Rifle Association (NRA), as well as with TogetherWeServed.Com. He enjoyed military history, deer and elk hunting, and hiking in the mountains. He also enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers and the Denver Broncos. 

He is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Sharon (Hendrickson) Schaut of Salt Lake City, UT formerly Iron Mountain, MI; and his loving daughter, Sara (Jon) Horsley of Salt Lake City, UT. He is also survived by his loving Mother, Fran (Chrisman) Schaut of Aurora, WI; his older brothers, Joseph Schaut of Madison, WI, Steven (Jackie) Schaut of Aurora, WI, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his Father, Duaine F. Schaut; his older brother Bob Schaut of Salina, KS, and several Aunts and Uncles.

Graveside service is tentatively scheduled for end of May 2025 at Aurora WI, Cemetery.
