Wayne J. Scovil, 55, of Shrewsbury, passed away at his home in the care of his family on Sunday, June 27, 2021. Wayne was battling Stage 4 lung cancer for over 3 years.

He was the son of the late Jackoline L. (Parker) Scovil. Wayne was born and raised in Westboro, MA. He attended Westboro High.

Wayne worked at the Post Office Pub in Grafton for over 20 years. He loved his job and the people he worked with. He enjoyed camping, hiking, traveling and being with his friends. He was an outdoors man.

Wayne is survived by his brother Charles S. Scovil of Worcester; three sisters, Jeanine Scovil and her fiancé Mark Laferriere of Shrewsbury, Sherri Holly and her two daughters Lynn and Briana of Northboro, and Wendy Martin and her two sons James and Blake of Shrewsbury. Wayne also had two extended families he truly loved, Travis "Chachi" Bergeron, his wife Kim and their four children, Shyanne, Hunter, "Big Al", and Olivia, all of Milford, MA. Skip St. Lauren was like a brother and his daughter Makayla, who he loved and adored and she loved and adored Wayne.

A graveside service will be held Friday, July 9 at 1:00pm at Pine Grove Cemetery, 106 South St, Westboro, MA 01581. Following the burial will be a celebration of Wayne's life at 3:00 pm at the Marine Corps League, 181 Lake Ave, Worcester, MA 01604. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are in the care of Rice Funeral Home, 300 Park Ave, Worcester.

Wayne's last words: "Peace Out".

My deepest sympathy to Wayne's family and friends. My recollection of Wayne as a young boy, was that of a very, sweet loving person, who truly cared for his family. I am sorry to hear of his suffering and pray that he is at peace, now with his mother and loving grandparents.
