Wayne Kent Scroggin

Wayne Kent Scroggin, age 72, of New Castle, PA, passed away the early morning of June 29, 2025, at UPMC Jameson Hospital.
Born Sept. 24, 1952, in Ocala, FL, he was the son of the late James Raymond and Jessie Bertha (O'Steen) Scroggin.
On April 19, 1975, he married the love of his life, Leah Suzanne Brose. They were married for 50 memorable years. Mrs. Scroggin survives at home.
Wayne was a graduate of Ocala High School and Central Florida Community College. He had a vast career working at Ocala Star Banner Newspaper where he was a photographer, the Marion Co. Sheriff's Office, where he worked as an evidence technician, and Airport Homeland Security, working in Asheville, NC and Anchorage, AK. Wayne enjoyed photography and Law Enforcement memorabilia. He will always be remembered for the love he had for his family. Wayne was of the Christian faith.
In addition to his wife, survivors include two daughters, Kristen Leigh (J.T.) Wagner of Asheville, NC, and Kelly Lynn (Chris) Garrett of Etowah, NC; and four grandchildren, Katelin M. Wagner, Emma A. Wagner, Kullen E. Garrett, and Rylan P. Garrett.
A memorial service will be held on August 2nd at 11 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church located at 207 Spring Ave. Ellwood City, PA 16117.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Trinity Lutheran Church.
