Wayne Scussel Obituary

Wayne Scussel
Wayne Alexander Scussel, 81, of Manchester, CT, passed away on December 7, 2025 at St. Francis Hospital. Wayne was born on June 15, 1944 in Stafford Springs, CT, son of the late Alexander and Irma (Spallacci) Scussel. Anyone who knew Wayne would tell you he could drive you crazy, but also, they would tell you he was a simple, minded loving soul who you couldn't help but love. Wayne was a star athlete at Stafford High School and was a sports fan who loved the Bost Red Sox and New England Patriots. He loved his friends he made over the years, and above all, his sister Lynn. We would like to thank the many doctors and nurses at St. Francis Hospital for their extraordinary care. Also, we would like to thank the entire staff at Touchpoints at Manchester for their compassionate and loving care during his 20 years spent there, especially his nurse Rhoda, who was really special to him and his family. Wayne leaves behind his sister and brother-in-law, Lynn and Michael Petroski of Enfield, CT. Funeral services with burial in Willington Hill Cemetery, Willington, CT, will be held privately. Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., Stafford Springs, CT, has care of the arrangements. To leave a condolence online for the family, please visit: www.introvignefuneralhome.com

I'm so sorry to my dear wife Lynn at the loss of her brother Wayne. I've known Wayne over 20 years and will tell you he could drive you nuts at times, but he was also one of the sweetest, most harmless loving souls on this earth. He'd tell you what number a player wore and for what team 40 years ago while alot of us can't remember where we parked our car at the store.Wayne would go on about his old neighbors, friends, teammates, etc. remembering all of them like it was just last year and not 60 years ago! I'll always miss Wayne's simpleness in nature, he was like an old soul who would tell you what a big kick he'd gotten seeing a few deer in his mother's yard, or how he went 4/5 in a big game back in the day, or how much he loved his sister Lynn and would tell everyone who'd listen. All the birthday burgers and shakes at Red Robin or ice creams at Dairy Queen, the holiday stayovers at our home and watching his Patriots or Red Sox, the memories go on and on. We were all very lucky to have known Wayne, guys like him only come around every hundred years or so..or never,... I know we'll never forget him
