Cyril Wayne Sheppard, Sr., 76, of Prosperity, died October 5, 2023 at Lexington Extended Care.
Born on October 29, 1946 in Newberry, He was a son of the late Billie Wayne and Claudia Abrams Sheppard. He was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church and retired from Champion International. Wayne spent much of his life farming in the Stoney Hill Community on the land that he loved. His happiest days were spent on a John Deere tractor and spending time with his family, especially his children and grandboys.
He loved the outdoors, especially working on his farm and working on heavy machine equipment. Wayne was very generous and had a heart for helping others and would always help whenever asked.
He is survived by his wife, Linda K. Sheppard; a son, Cyril Sheppard, Jr. of Prosperity; daughters, Kara Sheppard and Janna Felker both of Prosperity; a brother, Michael Sheppard of Silverstreet; and grandsons, Carson Cockrell and Braden Cockrell both of Prosperity.
Services will be conducted at 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 14, 2023 at St. Luke's Lutheran Church by the Rev. Jason Schafer. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service.
Memorials may be made to St Luke's Lutheran Church or to the Cemetery Fund, 4056 St. Luke's Church Road, Prosperity, SC 29127.
