Wayne:

Wayne Anthony Taylor, 68, of Chesterfield, Virginia peacefully transitioned to heaven on November 4, 2025.

Wayne was born in Petersburg, Virginia. He was raised in the West Petersburg area of Dinwiddie, Virginia.

He attended Dinwiddie County Public Schools before joining the United States Army. Later in life, Wayne was a proud employee of Chaparral Steel and McGuire Veteran's Hospital.

Wayne was a comedian at heart, always finding reasons to laugh and helping others do the same. He loved watching sports, playing the lottery, and enjoying life's simple pleasures. Wayne faced every challenge with humor and resilience, meeting even the toughest moments with a smile. He shared a deep, special bond with his mother, and he found genuine joy in supporting and uplifting children.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; Otis & Helen Taylor, Sr.; brothers, Charles Woods, David Williams, Ervin White, and Arthur and Reginald Taylor; sisters, Jeanette T. Kelley and Jacqueline Thorpe; grandson, TyJuan Crenshaw II affectionately known as Mistro.

Wayne leaves to cherish his memory; sons, TyJuan Crenshaw, Sr. and James Walker; grandchildren Tiana Taylor, Nekwan, Nakaylah, Nakahri Crenshaw, Kali Scott, and Semaj Walker; ten great grandchildren; brothers, Otis Jr. and Gary Taylor, Spencer Williams (Clara); sisters, Brenda Smith (Curtis), Beverly Pugh, Deborah and Patricia Taylor; brother-in-law, Lee Kelley; sister-in-law, Frances Taylor. A host of devoted nieces, nephews and cousins. Special and devoted friends Cynthia Vaughan, Pamela Dallas, and Tiffany Austin.

Wayne's laughter, love and presence will be deeply missed and continues to live in our hearts. His kindness, laughter, and warmth will be remembered always.

Celebration of life service for Mr. Wayne Anthony Taylor "Jamaica-Caveman" will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2025 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Missionary Baptist Church of God In Christ 233 Halifax St. Petersburg Virginia with full Military Honors. Bishop Jeffrey L. Dodson, Sr., Pastor,Officiating, Eulogist.

Interment will follow in the Amelia Virginia Veterans Cemetery 10300 Pridesville Road, Amelia Virginia Monday, December 8, 2025 at 2:00 p.m.

A public viewing will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 pm on Friday, December 5, 2025 at J.L. Dodson and Sons Funeral Establishment in Petersburg, Virginia.

The family is asking relatives and friends to assemble at the residence of his sister, Mrs. Brenda Taylor Smith on day of service at 9:45 a.m.
