Wayne A. Trampe

Wayne August Trampe, age 85 of Highland, IL, died Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at Cedar Ridge Healthcare Center in Lebanon, IL.
He was born on Tuesday, August 29, 1939, in Blackjack, MO, the son of Arthur and Marcella (nee Marquardt) Trampe.
On Saturday, June 30, 1962, he married Jean Marie Trampe (nee Schwarzenbach) in St. Louis, MO, who passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2015.
He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Highland, IL.
Wayne was born in Blackjack, MO; at age 5/6 his family moved to Marine, IL. While living in Marine he attended the Lutheran Church and was very active in the Walther League of the church. A 1957 graduate of Highland High School, he entered the service after high school. He started working for Wally Hug at Hug's Men's and Boys' Wear in Highland. In 1977 he and his wife started Wayne's Place, a men's clothing store, on Cypress Street; they eventually moved to the 1000 Block of Broadway. They retired in 2001. The Trampe's enjoyed gardening and camping. The family enjoyed 2-3 weeks on the beach every October and found time to vacation in the western States. Riding their ATVs was another great pastime. They also spent time at their farm in Marine, IL. Wayne's favorite thing was time with his granddaughter.

Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Sunday, April 6, 2025, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL and from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Monday, April 7, 2025, at Hope Lutheran Church in Highland, IL.
Funeral Service will be at 11:00 AM on Monday, April 7, 2025, at Hope Lutheran Church in Highland, IL, with Rev. Dr. Scott Busacker, Pastor, officiating.
Interment will be at Highland City Cemetery in Highland, IL.
