Wayne Mathew WEGWERTH

Age 81 After a lifelong devotion to family, faith and fun, Wayne was suddenly called by the Lord on May 18, 2023 to bring his passions to his eternal life in the presence of Jesus. Wayne was born July 8, 1941 to Arthur and Bernice in St. Paul, MN. He married his "doll", Joanne, on December 27, 1958 and raised 4 children in Maplewood. He retired from 3M after 32 years and pursued his passions of woodworking, helping others in need, washing dishes at church, snow blowing and cutting lawn on his John Deere, and spending time traveling on bus trips with his cherished "doll". In every endeavor, you could count on Wayne for a huge smile hello, a hearty laugh, and a fun observation to make you laugh as well. He was always "on call" to help anyone who needed it. Wayne was preceded in death by his son, Russell; daughter, Julie Sellner; grandchildren, Aaron and Adam; and siblings, Jerome, Lowell, Greg and Rene. Wayne is survived by his wife of 64 years, Joanne; children, Janice (Daryl) Rick, Dianne (Jim) Falteisek; daughter-in-law, Jana Wegwerth; son-in-law, Mark Sellner; 10 grandchildren, Jordan (Becky), Justine, Marissa (Jason), Wesley (Becky), Spencer (Annie), Tyler (Kayla), Justin, Katelyn (Max), Kylie, Cooper; 4 great-grandchildren, Morgan, Norah, Jersey, Melanie; siblings, Cindy, Sharon, Cherie, Beth, Robyn and Gary. A funeral service will be held at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, North St. Paul, at 11 am on Tuesday, June 6. Visitation prior to service at 10 am. Memorials preferred to American Heart Association.
