Wendell, you are truly missed here in North Carolina. With your card shop: The batters Box. You sold me my first Mickey Mantle and Roberto Clemente cards along with Greg Maddux cards who you knew was my favorite player and held them to the side for me when I came and visited your shop. Thanks for the memories...

Growing up in Greenville I remember Wendell well. I can still hear and see him riding his Triump motorcycle down Greenville Ave. Six years his junior to me he was the best. Godspeed Wendell!

Mr. Wendell will forever hold a special place in my heart!!! He was such a significant part of my life and some of my most favorite memories. Growing up from 3 years old until he closed his doors to the Batters Box; sitting on that chair bar stool, opening bubble gum pack ball cards as a kid to taking my child in to share the same memories! Taking him lunch occasionally & spending time with him on my lunch breaks over the years!!! 34 years of my life I was blessed to have shared soooo much time with him & dad! Thoughts & prayers for the entire family!
