Wendell was born the son of Emery Lois and Mildred Leota (Snyder) Ishmael on July 14th 1939 at home in Edina Missouri,
County seat of Knox County Missouri.
Wendell was a graduate of Laredo High School, Laredo Missouri and studied at North Center Missouri College, Trenton Missouri. Wendell retired in 2004 from Mobil Oil Company as a Computer Hardware Technology Support Manager/Consultant, 40 + years. During retirement he was very active as a Reliv Independent Distributor for over 20 + years. He was also able to get an RV along with his brother and sister so they could travel around and visit family up in South Dakota using their CB Radios to keep in touch with each other.
Wendell is survived by his wife Marilyn Jean (Cartmill) Ishmael, 65 years of marriage; September 6th 1959. Son Vincent Jon Ishmael of Kansas City Kansas; Four Daughters Wenda Schlicht and husband Kevin of Tonganoxie Kansas; Janice Lynne Appelt and husband James (Jim) of Three Rivers Texas; Angela Kim Fox of Shawnee Kansas; Nancy Susan Ishmael Alvarado and husband Gabriel (Gabby) of Shawnee Kansas; one Brother Lowell Ishmael and wife Rosie of Kansas City Kansas; one Sister Joyce Ann Stimpson of Trenton Missouri, two Sister-in-Laws; Dorthy Gott of Gladstone Missouri and Pat Ishmael in North Carolina. 11 Grandchildren, 24 Great Grandchildren, 1 Great Great Grandchild. Many Nephews and Nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents Emery Lois and Mildred Leota Ishmael, Sister Lois Jean Duckworth, Brother Rex Harlan Ishmael, great grandson Colton Austin Sprague.
In Lieu of flowers the family ask to share a fond memory, poem or short story about Wendell.
A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday July 6th 2025 between 1pm - 3pm at the Hollis Lodge Center 11414 Kansas Ave, Kansas City Kansas. 66112
