Wendell Dewayne Moore, age 74 from Belfair, Washington was called home to be with the Lord on August 31, 2025. He was born on October 10, 1950, in Sapulpa, Oklahoma to Marshall & Imogene Moore. The family moved to California when Wendell was very young and it was there that Wendell earned is high school diploma/apprenticeship from Napa High School in 1971 and began a career at Mare Island Naval Shipyard. Wendell moved to Washington in the early 1970's and devoted 40 years to Puget Sound Naval Shipyard. He began as a Shop 38 machinist and retired as an Assistant Project Superintendent on January 8, 2008.

Shortly after moving to Washington Wendell met the love of his life, Rosemarie Moore. They were married on December 30, 1973, and spent 51 happy years together raising a family and traveling the world.

Wendell was an avid sports fan who could often be found on the golf course, bowling alley, baseball field, hunting, fishing, or in front of the television enjoying a snack while watching his favorite, the Seattle Mariners. He also found great joy in working with his hands, he loved tinkering in his garage, completing numerous home improvement projects, gardening, car repair, cooking, and painting.

Wendell was predeceased by his brother Orelus Moore, his daughter Jennifer Moore, his parents Marshall & Imogene Moore, and his sister Renee Hammack. He is survived by his wife Rosemarie, his daughter Tammy (David), his son Daniel, his grandson Michael (Morgane), his granddaughter Ashley (Joe) and siblings Kay, Rhonda, and Mike, as well as many extended family members.

The family would like to thank all the medical staff at Virginia Mason Franciscan Health, Providence Hospice, and the numerous friends who supported Wendell through his journey.

A Celebration of Life will be held on October 11, 2025, at 11:00 am at Christ the Rock Community Church, 4100 SW Old Clifton Rd. Port Orchard, WA.
