Wendell Albert Spears, age 62, a resident of Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, April 5, 2024, at his residence.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 8, 2024, at 5:00PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Roberts officiating. Following the service, he will be laid to rest in Edwards Cemetery in Hampshire, Tennessee. A visitation will be held on Monday, April 8, 2024, from 2:00 – 5:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on September 15, 1961, in Maury County, Tennessee, Wendell was the son of the late John Spears, Jr. and the late Dorothy "Dot" Edwards Spears. Wendell spent his formative years in Maury County and attended Mt. Pleasant High School. Following his education, Wendell embarked on a fulfilling career as a truck driver for Robinette Trucking, where he dedicated an impressive 43 years of service. A man of faith, Wendell was a devoted member of Parkway Baptist Church. He was a loving and kind hearted and caring man that enjoyed doing and giving to everyone else.
He is survived by his children, Lindsay (Rob) Spears Call of Columbia, Wendell "Bubba" Spears, Jr.(Amelia Vernon) of Mt. Pleasant, and Shelby Spears (Chance Rosson) of Mt. Pleasant; mother of his children, Lynn Roberts Spears; grandchildren, Murphy Call, Mac Call, Fisher Rosson, and Gracie Spears; and his beloved cat, Branch.
Serving as pallbearers will be Brent Burns, Randall Woodard, Justin Robinette, Chad Craig, Taylor Duberry, Kevin "Elmo" Grandberry, Darryl Haywood and Danny Clifton. Employees of Robinette Trucking will serve as honorary pallbearers.
