Wendolyn Lanell Yeakley was born in Arlington, Texas to David and Marjorie Irick. She was the youngest of their 3 children.
She started her schooling in Arlington until her family moved to Denton in 1970. She finished her elementary schooling, attended Calhoun Jr. High, and graduated from Denton High School in 1978.
She started working in a florist shop and developed an interest in framing. She moved to Oklahoma City to work and later managed a frame shop. That is where she met her second husband James Yeakley. She then moved back to the Denton area in 2007 and finished her career in accounting.
She is preceded in death by her parents, David and Margie, and a sister, Dava Lynn Norris.
She is survived by her brother, J. W. Irick and wife Jackie, three nephews, Matthew Irick and wife Brandi, David Edward Norris, and James Michael (Sonny) Norris II and wife Danielle. Three great nieces, Charlotte Irick, Sophie Irick, Lynnleigh Norris and one great nephew Gage Norris.
She will be greatly missed by many close friends and family.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, July 7, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Mulkey, Bowles, Montgomery Funeral Home at 705 North Locust, Denton, Texas
