Wendy Gayle Hunyady

Wendy Gayle Hunyady, 57, passed away at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield on Tuesday, March 5, 2024. Born in Johnston County on November 28, 1966, she was the daughter of Paul Willoughby and Marita Price Willoughby.
Wendy is survived by her husband, Timothy Hunyady; children, Amanda Hunyady and Garrett Hunyady; grandchildren, Addisyn, Corbin, and Camerin; half-brothers, Ritchie Willoughby and Paul Lynn Willoughby; and step-brother, Tommy Williams.
For many years, Wendy was a hair stylist and CNA at a local nursing home. Her love for her patients was evident in the way she cared for all her patients. When not at work, Wendy enjoyed being outside. While outdoors, Wendy enjoyed the various wildlife, especially birds and butterflies.
Wendy's greatest joy in her life was family. She loved being with them and having fun. They would often travel together, going to the beach and various other locations. Being an avid thrill-seeker, there was no adventure too big for Wendy to tackle with her family right by her side. Each moment Wendy spent with her family was a moment she cherished forever. Wendy will be remembered as a loving mother and grandma.
Per her request, no formal services will be held.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be sent to the American Cancer Society P.O. Box 6704 Hagerstown, MD 21741 in memory of Wendy.
