Elmer J. Hunyady

Elmer Joseph Hunyady Jr., 87, of Naples, Florida, passed away on September 24, 2024 in his home surrounded by family. There will be no funeral services or viewing.
Elmer was born in Pittsburgh, PA to Katheryn Ingold and Elmer Joseph Hunyady Sr. on 7/16/1937. Elmer loved golf and spent hours reading history books in his favorite chair on the porch. He served in the United States Navy for 3 years from 1955-1958. After his time in the Navy, he worked for Pepsi co. before becoming an electrician journeyman foreman in Pittsburgh and a member of IBEW Local 5.
Elmer is survived by Joan, his loving wife of 65 years, three daughters Laura Hunyady, Linda Merchant, Diane Troy and his late son John Hunyady. Grandchildren include Michael Hunyady, Christian Lilja, Joshua Hunyady, Jonathan Hunyady, Jacob Troy and Caleb Troy. Great grandchildren include Ayla, Annabelle, Kiera, Audrey and Marlena.
The Hunyady family is very grateful to all of Elmer's care providers, family and friends for their love and support of Elmer, Joan and his children during this time.
Jeremiah 9:23-24
23 Thus saith the Lord, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches:
