He was born May 1, 1944, in Warren, Ohio, the son of John A. and Barbara Mary Koren Hunyady Sr.
John was a member of the Niles Christian Assembly Church and worked as an assembler at the Fairhaven Workshop. He was an avid fan of the Cleveland Guardians and the Cleveland Browns. He enjoyed collecting Hot Wheel and Match Box cars and trucks.
John is survived by his two brothers, Robert W. Hunyady and James A. Hunyady both of Niles; four sisters, Catherine Louis Mohn of Girard, Linda M. Juhasz of Niles, Susan Marie Holbrook of Deerfield and Patricia Elaine Rue of Wadsworth; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Michael Hunyady and a sister, Barbara Curry.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 16, 2024, at 5 p.m., at the Holloway-Williams Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 611 Robbins Ave., Niles, Ohio.330-652-2422.
Family and friends may call from 3 p.m. until the time of service.
Burial will be at St. Stephen Cemetery at a later date.
