Wendy M. Lekas, a beacon of love and generosity, was called home to the Lord on November 20, 2025, after a valiant battle with cancer. Born on March 14, 1961, in Mt. Holly, New Jersey, Wendy's journey of faith and service began, setting the stage for a life filled with grace and compassion. Wendy, known for her warm smile and nurturing spirit, spent her life in the embrace of her cherished family.
Her husband, Victor, was her steadfast partner in love and life's adventures. Together, they raised their son, Alexander, instilling in him the values of kindness and integrity. Wendy was the treasured daughter of Richard and Geraldine Odell and a caring sister to Susan Hughes and her husband Robert. Her extended family, including her nephews Robert and his wife Kim, Brandon, and his partner Erika, her great-nephew Brandon Jr., and great-niece Joanna were all touched by her boundless love and unwavering support. Her co-workers were like family to Wendy and she cherished the time spent with them.Professionally, Wendy dedicated herself to ensuring excellence and safety as a Quality Control Inspector for Airborne Systems North America. Her commitment to her work was surpassed only by her passion for mentoring others. Wendy received the prestigious PIA Dave DeWolf Mentor Award, a testament to her lifelong dedication to nurturing growth and fostering excellence in the parachute industry. Her colleagues will remember her not just for her keen eye for detail but for her heart that made every challenge a shared endeavor.
