Wendy Linnae Smith was born August 25th, 1950 to Milton Earl and Alice Irene Taurman in St.Peter, Minnesota. She was the ninth of ten children. She lived out her younger years with her parents and siblings in Tuscon, AZ and Carson, CA. She graduated from Carson High School in 1968.

After graduation she moved to Oregon to live with her sister and this is where she met the love of her life, John Smith. The two were married on September 5th, 1970 in McMinnville, Oregon. They lived the rest of their lives together in Carlton, Oregon. Their children, Robert 'Doug' Smith (Carol) and Shalene Stevens (Glenn) then joined their lives and completed their family.

They raised their children in a loving home and welcomed anyone to come and share a meal. Wendy found a love of caring for others in the way of cooking. She enjoyed the hobby of bowling as well. She bowled in a league at Walnut City Lanes for approximately 30 years. She participated in tournaments all across the US.

She had found her child that was placed for adoption when she was a teen. Marcie and Wendy did develop a relationship and was brought in to the family until she too left for Heaven. As her children aged and found their own lives, she found a new love in her grandchildren. Doug and Carol blessed her life with three grandchildren; Billie, Brittney and Andrea. Shay and Doc blessed her with two grandchildren as well; Nikki and Jacob. She took the time to individually teach her grandchildren how to cook, bowl, and care for others. This was carried on to her five and soon to be seven great grandchildren.

She touched the lives of those who met her through camping, bowling and being involved in the lives of others. She cherished the relationships she had with everyone in her life. The most special at the end was the family she surrounded herself with.

A viewing will be held Friday, August 29th, 3-6pm, at Macy & Son Funeral Home. The funeral will take place on Saturday, August 30th, 11:00am, at Praise Assembly Church.
