Wendy Williams Terrell passed away October 16, 2025 at the age of 78.
Born in Corning, New York on January 18, 1947, Wendy was the daughter of Thomas Johns Williams and Phyllis McIntosh Williams. She attended school in Albuquerque, San Antonio, San Francisco, Tokyo, Rome, NY and Bladensburg, MD. She graduated from St. Bonaventure University in 1968 with a degree in French Literature. Following graduation, she began a career in the business world until her marriage to John Roy Terrell in 1983.
She developed a love of reading at an early age, which continued throughout her life. Her love of all creatures, particularly dogs and cats, led to a lifetime of devotion to her beloved pets. She was an avid photographer and loved time in Santa Fe, Nantucket Island, and New England. She was an enthusiastic karate student, studying with the late Grandmaster Derrick Hayes, and achieved the rank of 6th degree black belt.
Her life was enriched by loving friends and family, including best friends, her beloved brother, Thomas Williams, Alexa Lewandowski, and Greg Hubbard. The Terrell, McAboy, and Williams families provided love, good times, and friendship over the years. Twenty-one nephews and nieces were a blessing.
Wendy and Roy enjoyed a beautiful life together, sharing a love of being with each other, jokes, and faith. They were deeply committed to service to the poor through St. Andrew Catholic Church. Wendy’s faith was expanded by their mutual love, and it held them close during happy times and difficult days. Wendy’s deep love for Roy was the defining part of her life. His humor, curiosity, kindness, sweet demeanor and joie de vivre made her happy every day of their 38 year marriage. Wendy thought she was the luckiest girl in the world to be loved by her precious Irishman.
They will have a joyous reunion in Paradise.
Friends are invited to join in a Rosary at 10:30 a.m. and a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2025 at St. Andrew Catholic Church, followed by a Reception. There will be a graveside ceremony for interment at 2:00 p.m. December 8, 2025 at Memorial Park Cemetery in Oklahoma City, OK where she will be laid to rest with her beloved Roy on their wedding anniversary.
Should friends desire, in lieu of flowers, a memorial donation for Wendy may be given to your local food bank or animal rescue — two causes about which she was passionate.
