With heavy hearts, the family of Wendy E. (Washburn) Wiksten announces her passing on November 19, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on July 28, 1948, Wendy was the daughter of the late John and Helen E. â€sBetteâ€t Washburn of Middleborough. She is now reunited in eternal peace with her sister, Nancy Lee Washburn, who predeceased her.

A lifelong resident of Middleborough, Wendy took great pride in her roots and community. For many years, she worked at Maria’s Hallmark of Middleborough, where both she and the store were beloved fixtures in the town’s centre. After retiring, Wendy devoted her time to managing the thrift store at the Council on Aging, a role she carried out with love and dedication to her community.

Wendy had a deep love for travel and adventure. Whether camping in the family station wagon, riding comfortably on the back of her husband’s Harley through North Conway, exploring the beauty of Pennsylvania Dutch Country, or enjoying vacations in Fort Lauderdale and Disney World, she embraced every opportunity to see the world. Above all, Wendy treasured her family, who will forever remain her greatest joy and most cherished legacy.

Wendy leaves behind her devoted husband, Paul W. Wiksten, with whom she shared a lifetime of love, laughter, and partnership. She is survived by her three children: Heidi Lee (Wiksten) Mace and her husband Jeffrey of Seekonk; Joel Paul Wiksten and his wife Jamie of Wareham; and Korri Elizabeth (Wiksten) Gazza and her husband Paul of Middleborough. Wendy’s spirit and wit lives on in her nine grandchildren - Emma (Mace) Bullock; Ethan, Sarah, and Morgan Mace; Abby and Will Wiksten; and Hannah, Noah, and Makynzie Gazza, as well as her great-grandson, Miles Bullock.

Visiting hours on November 26, 2025 (Wednesday) from 9 until 11 a.m. in the O'Neill Funeral Home, 59 Peirce Street (corner of School Street) Middleborough Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: The Middleborough Council on Aging, 558 Plymouth Street, Middleborough, MA 02346.
