Werner Kapfer Obituary
Werner was born in Mannheim, Germany in 1933 at home in his father's tailor shop. He immigrated to America in 1957, arriving on the ocean liner "Berlin". After arriving in America Werner joined the US Army in 1958 and served 2 years of active duty. Werner was the Head Tailor for the Washington, DC area's best men's clothing store at the time, called Raleigh's, from 1960 to 1993. It was there he met his beloved wife, Christa, in 1963 and they married later that year. Werner and Christa opened and operated Kapfer's Tailoring in 1993 until closing in 2016 following Christa's passing.
Werner was preceded in death by his wife, Christa. He is survived by his sons, Garry Kapfer and Michael Kapfer; his grandchildren, Nicholas Kapfer and Brianna Wheeler, and great grandchildren, Colton Wheeler, Leila Wheeler, and Bryant Wheeler; his youngest sister, Gisela Kirschner.
