Werner Klaiber, 78, of Hamilton, passed away Thursday, December 25, 2025 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Trossingen, Germany to Luise and Walter Klaiber, he immigrated to the United States in 1965. Werner was a talented chef and loved cooking. He worked at the Old Heidelberg Restaurant in Hamilton for several years before opening the Black Forest Restaurant in Allentown, NJ in 1985. Werner loved being hospitable and opening the restaurant was his way of offering a place for people to gather and enjoy good food. Following his career as a restauranteur, Werner drove a school bus. He loved working with children and helping them when he could. A child at heart, you would most likely find him at the “kid’s table”.
Werner was an active member of Redeemer Alliance Church in Robbinsville and volunteered for the Church Food Pantry, but his greatest joy was his family and he was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
Werner is survived by his loving wife Marianne, with whom he just celebrated 56 years of marriage. He is also survived by his two daughters and sons-in-law, Nicol and Matthew Krinsley and Christine and Steven DiSebastian, his grandchildren, Nathan Krinsley and Jeremiah and Ada DiSebastian; his sister, Helga Schlack of Germany as well as many nieces, nephews and other relatives in the United States and Germany.
A visitation will be held Friday, January 2nd from 10-11 am with a service to begin at 11am at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St. Allentown, NJ. Interment will follow in Allentown Methodist Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Werner’s name to the Alliance Restoration Center, 401 Farragut Ave, Trenton, NJ 08629 or at www.alliancerestorationcenter.com
