Wesley Dean Acord, 42, of Churchville, passed away, Sunday, March 19, 2023 at his home.
He was born September 7, 1980 in Staunton, a son of Frankie Marie (Pullin) Campbell of Swoope and the late Robert Mitchell “Pi” Acord.
From a young age, Wesley loved cars and retained that love throughout his life, going as far as attending and driving in the Richard Petty Driving School, taking road trips and having a need for high speed. He also enjoyed skydiving, playing his drum set and finding unique videos on YouTube to share with his family and friends. He was a daredevil, thrill seeker and certainly his own person. Above all, he will be remembered as a good hearted and caring person, who loved his family and will be greatly missed.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his children, Allie Faith and Riley Frank Acord; grandmother, Ruth (Malcolm) Pullin of Staunton; step-father, Gary Campbell; step-brother, Derek Campbell and wife, Donna of Goshen; aunts, Kathleen Wilson and husband, James and Crystal Morzark and husband, Victor, all of Churchville; uncle, Alan Pullin and wife, Donna of Fredericksburg; numerous cousins; his special friends, Jason Miller, Jeremy McManaway, Joey Medley, Tommy Whitlock and countless friends throughout; as well as his feline friend, Spotty.
In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Frank Pullin and paternal grandparents, Robert S. and Goldie (Testerman) Acord.
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, April 1, 2023 at Jerusalem Chapel Church with pastor Bobby Campbell officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Ronald McDonald House, 300 9th St SW, Charlottesville, VA 22903.
