On February 4, 1995, the world was blessed with the birth of a beautiful baby boy, Wesley Nicholas Ferrell. On January 5, 2026, Wesley was called home, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and music that will forever echo in the hearts of those who knew him.

Wesley was a joy throughout his entire life. He had a quick, genuine smile and a gentle presence that made people feel instantly welcomed and loved. He always wanted those around him to feel valued and encouraged, and he never missed an opportunity to cheer others on—whether close by or from afar. His loving and giving heart sought only the best for everyone he encountered.

Music was Wesley’s passion and his language—it was how he expressed his heart. He began singing at a young age and later taught himself to play guitar and bass, also finding joy in playing the ukulele. Wesley was rarely without his guitar and was always quick to bless others with a song. Through music, he shared comfort, joy, and connection.

Wesley was a proud 2013 graduate of Long Beach High School where he was member of the Long Beach High School Concert Choir, where he also sang in the Men’s Quartet and the renowned Long Beach High School Madrigals. He was active in several clubs during high school and, a true reflection of his character, was voted Friendliest his senior year. During his High School years he also sang in the St. Thomas the Apostle Life Teen band.

He continued his education at Jones County Junior College and Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, where he earned an Associate of Applied Science degree. Wesley later attended the University of Southern Mississippi, majoring in Audio Production. He was also a proud member of the fraternity Delta Tau Delta, where he formed many lifelong friendships. Wesley cherished his “boys,” who stood beside him through every season of life.

Beyond music, Wesley loved Mardi Gras and proudly served as a Duke in for the Krewe of Hera as well as Carnival Association of Long Beach. He loved being part of both organizations and embraced the spirit of service they represented. Wesley truly had a servant’s heart but he loved a good Mardi Gras Mambo and Second Line. He loved his community.

Music was not just something Wesley loved—it was who he was. Through every lyric he sang and every chord he played, Wesley poured out his soul. Whether performing in choir, singing with friends, or quietly strumming his guitar for those nearby, his music carried warmth, sincerity, and peace. Wesley’s songs were gifts—offered freely and without expectation—meant simply to bring joy, comfort, and connection. Though his voice may now be silent, the music he shared lives on in memories, melodies, and the countless lives he touched. His song will never fade.

Wesley was preceded in death by his precious baby boy, Brooks James Ferrell; his biological father, Thomas Lloyd Ferrell II; his father, Charles James Glenn; his maternal grandfather, James Raymond O’Neal; his paternal grandfather, Thomas Lloyd Frierson; his paternal grandmother, Eva Annette Ferrell; his great-grandparents, Frederick and Vetter Ann Taylor; and Mr. James Emmett and Ettis Rae O’Neal.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving mother, Jennifer O’Neal Glenn; his brother by birth, Thomas Lloyd Ferrell III; his brothers he was blessed with, Charles Brandon Glenn (Jessa) and Joseph Bradley Glenn; his beloved maternal grandmother, Vetter Ann O’Neal; his maternal step-grandmother, Cynthia Annette O’Neal; and his paternal step-grandmother, Elizabeth Frierson.

He is also survived by his aunts, Crystal Annette O’Neal and Deanna Yake (Dean), aunt Rita Glenn Ferguson, and her husband Darrell, uncle Randolph Glenn; his great-aunts and uncles who were especially close to his heart: Lisa and Gary Daigrepont, Debra Joly (Justin d.), Carole and Anthony Lama, Sandra Prevot (Keith D.), Pam and Randy O’Neal, Jamie and Brett O’Neal, and Mary Taylor Dunn; as well as Frederick Taylor and Michael Taylor. He also leaves behind his “G-Maw” Elise Hutchinson, “Aunt” Teresa Wally, “Uncle” Bear Olson (Tammy), his godson Abel Olson and his Dean Glenn and Brooklyn Bute.

Wesley also leaves behind his nieces and nephews, a host of cousins, many adopted aunts, uncles and countless friends who became family.

Special thanks to Israel Jarvis Russell who has stepped up to coordinate Wesley’s musical service.

Wesley was a quiet blessing—often standing back, observing, until it was his time to shine. The most important thing to him was always making others feel special and important. He celebrated people wholeheartedly and encouraged every accomplishment, big or small.

“Wesley taught us that the quietest hearts often leave the loudest echoes. His kindness, his smile, and his music will forever play on in our lives.”

May we honor Wesley by smiling like he did, cheering others on as he always would, and using our talents to bring happiness to those around us. Never forget to appreciate the ones you love, and never leave words of love unspoken.

The Wesley Nicholas Memorial Scholarship has been set up in his honor for a Long Beach High School Concert Choir Senior furthering their education.

Visitation will be on Monday, January 19, 2026, from 3 - 5 pm at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 720 E Beach Blvd, Long Beach. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 5 pm.
