A gathering of family and friends will be held at Mount Calvary Baptist Church on Friday, November 14, 2025, beginning at 10:00 AM until the time of the memorial celebration of life.
Mr. Wesley Charles Joseph, Sr. born August 30, 1933, was a beloved father, son, brother, uncle, and friend who transitioned from life to eternal life with Jesus Christ on November 6, 2025, at 'Avir at Spring Branch' in Houston, Texas.
He received his formal education in Jeanerette, LA and was a 1953 graduate of Jeanerette Colored High School.
Wesley accepted Christ at an early age and was an active member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Jeanerette, LA. There, he sung in the choir, participated in Sunday School as a teacher, served as a deacon, visited the sick and shut in, administered the Lord's Supper, worked with Vacation Bible School and held the position as church historian until his health failed him. He was a willing worker and readily served in any capacity needed.
Wesley gave service to his country and retired from the United States Air Force after twenty years of service with the rank of Master Sergeant.
He leaves to cherish his memories his two sons, Wesley Joseph, Jr. (Huntsville, TX) and Lance Joseph (Fresno, TX); five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and close friends.
Wesley was preceded in death by his parents, Nicholas and Rosa (Butts) Joseph; siblings, A. B. Joseph, Nicholas Joseph, Jr., Betty Joseph Lyons, and Bertrand Joseph; his wife, Lucille K. Joseph; two daughters, Cheryl Joseph Washington and Sherry Joseph; and one grandson, Tedric Joseph.
