It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Wesley Don Webb, a cherished husband, dad, son, Poppy, brother, and friend. On Friday, March 14, 2025, Don peacefully passed away at the age of 65, embraced by his beloved Honey Bunny, Gail Webb, at their home in White Deer, Texas. Don's courageous two-month battle with cancer has come to an end, and he is now at rest.
Born on August 9, 1959, in Memphis, Texas, to Wesley and Vela Webb, Don was the oldest of three sons. He spent his childhood in White Deer, graduating from White Deer High School in 1977. Though he briefly attended Texas State Technical Institute to study electronics, Don chose to pursue a career as an industrial electrician. Over his professional life, he worked for several reputable companies including Celanese, Philips, Cabot, Carbon Black, and NOV, where he spent the last decade before retiring. He was also a proud member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW).
In 1988, Don met the love of his life, Gail, while working at Celanese. Despite a period of separation due to job changes, their paths crossed again in 2006, rekindling their relationship as if no time had passed. After Gail proposed, Don joyfully accepted, and they were married on the Webb family ranch on September 17, 2011. From that day forward, they were inseparable, each other's rock and soulmate.
Don was a man of many talents and interests. In high school, he excelled in agricultural judging and various sports, and was actively involved in the Boy Scouts, achieving the rank of Eagle Scout and Explorer. His passion for the outdoors was evident in his hobbies, which included golf, hunting, fishing, off-roading and mudbogging in his beloved Bronco, "Taz." He also enjoyed dirt biking and racing, and was an extreme Dallas Cowboys fan. However, nothing was more important or made him happier than his family, whom he adored and cherished.
Don's legacy of simplicity yet complex love will be forever treasured by his devoted wife, Gail Webb; his children, Ricky Nichols and wife Jesica of Pampa, and Damnit Daughter Gayla Oldaker of White Deer; his parents, Wesley and Vela Webb of White Deer; his brothers, Sam Webb of North Carolina, and Larry Webb and wife Denise of Stinnett; and his six grandchildren, Harley Nichols, Lizzie Nichols, Kyler Oldaker, Daniel Nichols, Bella Oldaker, Bree Anna Oldaker and bonus granddaughter, Angie. His shenanigans and crazy memories will also be cherished by his lifelong best friend and brother from another mother, Tim Teague and wife Pam of Borger.
The family kindly suggests that memorial donations be made to The Boy Scouts of America in honor of Don should they be a preference. Donations can be sent to 401 Tascosa Rd, Amarillo, TX 79124.
Family and friends are invited to gather and share their memories on Friday, March 21, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Winegeart Funeral Home Serenity Chapel.
A Celebration of Life Graveside Inurnment Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at Citizens Cemetery in Clarendon, TX with Brother Alan Wilson officiating and Allen Lemons assisting. The cemetery is located one mile south of Clarendon on Highway 70, on the east side of the road. The family has entrusted Winegeart Funeral Home with the cremation care of their beloved Don.
