Wilbert Chapman, went to meet the Lord on October 27, 2023. He was born in Houston, AR to the late Cordell and Vida Chapman on January 11, 1936.
Wilbert graduated from Bigelow High School and the University of AR. He retired from AR State Highway & Transportation Department after working for 43 years as a civil engineer.
Wilbert honored the Lord in the way he lived his life and loved others. He was a devoted husband to Bobbie for 62 years. He was an excellent and generous father, and an amazing PaPaw to his grandchildren.
He enjoyed playing golf, taking care of his cattle, which he retired from at 82, vacationing with friends and spending time with his family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Assembly of God Church, 4501 Burrow Drive, North Little Rock, AR 72116.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Bobbie Jackson Chapman; and a sister, Carolyn Camp.
Survivors include children, Rhonda (Roger) Pool, Shawn (Hallie) Chapman; and grandchildren: Phillip (Hannah) Pool, Andrew Pool, Jackson Chapman, Savannah Chapman, and Kara (Trevor) Traub; great-grandchildren: Penelope and Hendrix Pool; along with a host of other family and friends who all love him and miss him dearly.
Visitation will begin at 10:00, followed by the funeral at 11:00 AM Thursday, November 2, 2023 at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home. Interment will be 1:00 PM Friday, November 3, 2023 at Fairview Memorial Gardens, Fayetteville, AR.
