Wilfred Vincent "Bill" Abbotoy

Wilfred "Bill" Vincent Abbotoy, born on July 5, 1936 in Buffalo New York to the late Raymond and Viola (nee Schubert) Abbotoy and entered into rest on November 20th, 2025 in Bradenton, Florida. He was a devoted husband, loving father, and loyal friend whose steady presence and humor touched all who knew him.
Bill is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia of 66 years, his children; Sheri (Cliff) Courtney, Mark (late Judy) Abbotoy, and Craig (Melissa) Abbotoy, his cherished sister Sharon (late Jerad) Dingman,10 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren. His loving family will fondly remember his humor, instruction, kindness and selfless devotion.
Bill is preceded by his siblings; Marlene (late Leo) Kelley, late Marvin (Bertha) Abbotoy and late Noreen (late James) Saemenes and loving grandson Ryan Courtney.
Bill spent 40 years dedicated to his distinguished career at MOOG, Inc. as a Senior Engineer, where he was known for his dedication and ability to design complex actuator systems for fighter jets, guided missiles and also for the space shuttle program. His hard work ethic didn't end at retirement; he had the privilege of participating in the police academy and volunteered his time to the Manatee Sheriff's department for many years.
Bill was a dedicated member of Bible Baptist Church in Bradenton, Florida. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, golfing, ping pong, horseshoes, alligator wrangling and gardening. Bill was an avid bowler and played for several leagues over the years including Moog and Randall Baptist church. Bill was a skillful man who through his intelligence, will, and determination could conquer anything.
Bill lived a life marked by devotion - to his family, to his work, and to the strong principles that he lived by. His memory will remain a blessing to all who were fortunate enough to know him. A celebration of life will be held on January 24th at 10:30am at Bible Baptist Church in Bradenton. A reception to follow at the church.
