Wilfred Oscar (Bill) Schulz, of Shoreview, passed away unexpectedly in his home Thursday, September 18, 2025 at the age of 92. Bill was born October 1, 1932 to Oscar and Anna Schulz in Pokegama Township and was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Pine City. He graduated Pine City High School on June 1, 1950 and continued to live on the family farm to help his mother. Bill met Yvonne (Anderson) at a dance in Pine City where they fell in love and married April 16, 1955. He started plumbing in August of that year for WM Murphy and a year later went to Richfield Plumbing Co. where he spent the next 53+ years. He was a member of the Plumbers Local No.15 for 65 continuous years. Bill and Yvonne built their first home in Golden Valley, MN in 1958 but in the spring of 1963, they decided to move further south and build another home in Burnsville. They soon joined Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in 1964 and became fixtures on Eagle Ridge Dr. It was there that they raised their two children and resided for the next 50 years. He was very handy and enjoyed wood-working, gardening and maintaining the family home meticulously. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, golf, playing cards and cutting wood to heat his home. Bill and Yvonne loved to travel and made numerous trips with various friends and family throughout the years. They especially enjoyed spending the winter months in Florida for 20+ years. Family meant everything to Bill. From his loving wife of 70 years, his children, grandchildren, many nieces and nephews to his extended family of numerous life-long friends. There was no greater joy in his life than to spend time with his "family" and he would long cherish those memories until the end. Bill is survived by his wife Yvonne; daughter Beth (Scott) Durbahn; son Kevin (Gina Kubista) Schulz; grandchildren Blake (Caroline) Durbahn, Brittany Durbahn; great grandchild Sophia Durbahn; sister in-law Sue (Mike) Griffin and many wonderful nieces, nephews and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Oscar and Anna; his brother Wallace; 5 sisters, Laura, Eva Jane, Clarabelle, Mary Louise and Ilene; mother and father in-law Albert and Helen Anderson; sisters in-law Clarice Nelson and Sharon Sandstrom; 3 nephews and many friends. We find comfort in knowing that Dad's legacy lives on through the lessons he taught us, the love he shared, and the memories we will cherish forever. All he needed in life was his Faith, Family and Friends... he was so truly blessed! Bill was a cancer survivor so in lieu of flowers, please consider a gift to the American Cancer Society.

OMG Our Uncle Wilfred. He will be remembered by our family for all the Thanksgivings together since I was 3 yrs old. All the card playing with both my parents and then with us when parents passed. We've celebrated Endless occassions over the years and closely witnessed how blessed Bill & Yvonne were to have each other - one of the greatest loves I've witnessed. He (they) were the Aunt & Uncle we were so proud of to have in our lives. Bill was a marvelous story teller & I will miss him reminding me of stories of my own parents . Bill also lived with us while he attended Dunwoody, my Mom. Clarabelle, being his sister. Thus we were so lucky to begin a Thanksgiving Tradition with him & his girlfriend Yvonne & My father's very special sister Louise and the Anderson Family. I am Shirley Garness, their 3yr old flowergirl, now 74. You will be forever missed but so remembered & loved by myself & my family Uncle Bill. Our love, hugs & sympathy to Yvonne & the family. Love Shirley Garness.

Our last Thanksgiving together "2023" below.
