Wilfredo Legaspi Salang

Wilfredo Legaspi Salang, affectionately known 'Willie, joined his place next to our Lord on September 16, 2025, at the age of 84.

Willie was born on February 13, 1941, in the municipality of Dinalupihan in the province of Bataan, Philippines to David and Andrea Legaspi Salang. He enlisted in the US Navy in 1965, retired after 20 years of service in 1986, followed by work as a civil servant to the US government, and retirement in 2008.

Willie is survived by his wife Myrna Abueg Salang, his sons Marlon and Kipp, and his sole granddaughter Emma Reese Dualan Salang. His younger brothers, Diosdado and Armando, remain in the Philippines and will sorely miss him. He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Andrea, whose deep sense of resourcefulness and generosity remained a constant throughout his life.

Willie brought joy to all who knew him. Whether getting together with the ROMEO (Retired Old Men Eating Out) Club at Burger King, playing a round of golf, tending to his garden, or eagerly watching his young granddaughter play soccer, he always found a way to laugh and remind us to enjoy life. He fulfilled his long desire to explore the world and understand people at a deeper level. As an avid late-night reader, he could be found reading the newspaper, Reader's Digest, or the encyclopedia.

In his honor, the public viewing will be held at Hollomon-Brown Princess Anne Chapel on September 29, 2025, at 5:00-9:00 PM. The Funeral Mass will be held at St Gregory The Great Catholic Church on September 30, 2025, at 11:00 AM.
