Wilhelmina "Wilma" Malate Almonte, age 74, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away on August 13, 2021 after a stouthearted battle against pancreatic cancer. Loving and fervent-hearted, Wilhelmina "Wilma" is survived by her husband of 54 years, Reynaldo Almonte; her daughters Remedios Mateo, Marites Almonte, and Jocelyn Filoteo; son-in-laws Julio Mateo and Gilbert Filoteo; and her grandchildren Marvin Mateo, Marviel Mateo, Jonah Filoteo, and Jacob Filoteo. She will also be dearly remembered by her siblings Julie Malate, Ysmael Malate, and Ruben Malate; siblings-in-law Fernando Pacien, Wilfredo Lim, Eleanor Malate & Etheldreda Malate; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Wilhelmina was born Cagayan Valley on May 24, 1947, as the eldest child of Benito Malate and Eufresinia Andres. Her parents preceded her in death, along with her sisters Amelita Bruno, Corazon Pacion, and Venus Lim.

Wilhelmina met her husband, Reynaldo Almonte in Pasay City, Philippines, whom she married on Decedember 4, 1967. Together, the couple emigrated to the United States of America in November 1993.

In the United States, she held numerous jobs, most notable as a CIF II at Social Vocational Services, where she served and enjoyed the company of her coworkers for 21 years. In return, they appreciated her incredible generosity, kindness, and sincere amity.

By her family, she is affectionately referred to as "Manang", "Nanay", and "Mamio", and despite her differing names, she was nevertheless the same person - a humble, benevolent woman who invariably, displayed her genuine affections, helpful beyond compare, and generous beyond measure. Through her actions and conduct, she showed her unwavering faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Surely, she will be deeply missed by friends and family.

Wilhelmina had fought hard until the Good Lord decided that it was time for her to rest. She may be gone, but our memories of her will live forever. May she finally rest in peace.
