Wilkinson Benefield Obituary
Wilkinson Shane Benefield, age 35, a resident of Columbia, passed away Friday, January 3, 2025, at his residence.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at 3:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Steven Morgan officiating. A visitation will also be held on Tuesday from 1:00 – 3:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Shane was born on April 15, 1989, in Decatur, Alabama, and was the son of Martin (Bethany) Benefield and Sandra Green
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, building model cars, playing mini golf, and making people laugh. He had a giving heart and would always help anyone in need. Shane enjoyed cooking and his most requested dish was his peanut butter pie. A loving husband and father, he loved spending time with his family. Shane will be missed dearly by those who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his loving wife Amanda, daughters, Hannah Benefield and Addison Proto, his brothers, Martin Benefield Jr, David (Morgan) Benefield, Jonathan (Ashley), Stone, and Richard Vickers, granddaughter, Lorelai Proto, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
