The family of Mr. Will Smith, Sr. gratefully acknowledges all expressions of sympathy shown during their time of bereavement. May God continue to bless each of you.
Mr. Will Smith, Sr., age eighty-five, departed this life and entered into eternal rest Sunday, December 15, 2024 at his home in Semora, North Carolina. He was born in Granville County September 11, 1939 to the late Enoch Smith and Leona Wilkerson Smith and attended Vernon Hill Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter, Evonne Smith; and a brother, Willie Haywood Smith.
He leaves to cherish precious memories, his wife, Delores Smith of the home; children: Sylvester Taborn of Roxboro, North Carolina, Leona Smith and Joyce Smith, both of Yanceyville, North Carolina, Willie Smith, also of Roxboro, Will Smith, Jr. (Rosie) of Semora, North Carolina, Jerome Smith (Jessica) and Marvin Smith, both of Roxboro, Antonio Smith of Mebane, North Carolina, Prince Smith and Marcellus Smith, also of Roxboro and Angela Smith of Yanceyville; one-hundred and five grandchildren and great-grndchildren; siblings: Enoch Smith, Jr. (Mary) of Oxford, North Carolina and Rosetta Fenn of Free Port, New York; and a host of other additional loving relatives and friends.
The funeral service will be held Friday, December 20, 2024 at 1:00pm at Saint Matthew Missionary Baptist Church, 8604 North Carolina Highway #96, Oxford, North Carolina 27565, with Minister Stacy Smith providing the eulogy. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery (#2). Visitation will also be at the church Friday during the one hour prior to the service when his body will lie in state from 12:00pm to 1:00pm.
At other times, the family will receive visitors at his home, 110 Glenn Irvin Road in Semora, North Carolina 27343.
