Willard P. Hendry Jr.

Obituary

Phil was an honorable son and brother,

a dedicated and loving husband, and an

incredible father figure. A loving grand and

great grandfather; Phil was a friend and active

community member. He coached baseball for

many years in Amite, LA, was past Master

of the Masonic Lodge, and a past president of

the Lions club and spent many years in service

promoting the Children's Eye Foundation. He

donated time to local schools and charities.

He was a National Poultry Judging Champion,

semi pro Basketball player, and invented a state

of the art process for wearable steel products. He

loved dirt track racing and became a well known

and respected member of the race community.

Phil loved fishing and a good cup of coffee.

Phil never met a stranger and always offered

an ear to listen or a helping hand. He was a

respected member of the First Baptist Church of Runnelstown, MS.

Preceded in death by his father, Willard P. Hendry, Sr., his mother, Pricilla Hendry, his wife, Jannie Hayes Hendry, his son, Willard Jackson Hendry, his sister, Hilda Adams, and brother, Raymond Hendry.

Phil is survived by his sons, Stephen Hendry and Raymond Hendry, his brothers, Randy (RW) Hendry, James (Rocky) Hendry, and Joseph Hendry. Nine grandchildren, Twelve great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
