Age 88, of Tawas City, MI passed away on Friday, April 25, 2025 at Lakeview Manor Nursing Home in Tawas City, MI. Willie was born on February 6, 1937 in Melrose Park, IL to the late Martin and Rose Hilger (Nimcheski). He served and was honorably discharged from the United States Army. Following his time in the service, he began working for General Motors in 1964. Willie worked in assembly for over 30 years until his retirement in 1994 from Buick City. He enjoyed woodworking, cross stitching, cutting and preparing wood to heat the family home. Willie is survived by his wife, Vicky whom he married on March 5, 1973 in Flint, MI. Also surviving are three children, Martin Hilger of Tawas City, MI, Margaret (Bill) Bryon of Spokane, WA, Gerald (Brenda) Covert of Sault Ste. Marie, MI; 8 grandchildren, James (Alicia) Beveridge, Paige Beveridge, Jacob (Jen) Beveridge, Connor Covert, Collin Covert, Martin Hilger, James (Jenny) Jared, Rochelle (Bryan) and his brother Donald (Sherry) Wright of Flushing, MI. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Helen Hilger, Stacie Jared and grandson Mark Jared.
