Willard Hurt Obituary

Published by Legacy on Sep. 9, 2025.
Willard Lee Hurt, lovingly known as "Peck," of Prairie Hill, Missouri, passed away peacefully at his home on September 8, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. Born January 25, 1959, in Prairie Hill, Missouri, to William Leslie "Bill" Hurt Sr and Helen Nadine (Scott) Hurt. Peck lived a life full of laughter, hard work, and deep love for his family.

He was a proud father to Lisa Marie (Hurt) Allard and John Dakota "Cody" Hurt, and he adored being Papa to his grandchildren, Rylan Lane Hurt, Reghan Marie Allard, and Kylee Grace Hurt. His loyal dog, Jack, rarely left his side.

Peck is survived by his children, grandchildren, brothers Richard (Helen), Warner, Jim (Valorie), and Don (Kassie) Hurt; and his brother-in-law Dal Daugherty (Trish). He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members who loved him dearly.

He is reunited in heaven with his parents; brothers William Leslie "Billy" Hurt and John Milton Hurt; sister Patricia "Trish" Gale Daugherty; sisters-in-law Linda, Carol, and Marilyn Hurt; nephews Justin Starr Daugherty and Warner Landon Hurt; and nieces Lisa Ann Hurt, Jennifer Dawn Hurt, and Tena Marie Plotner.

Peck was a man of many passions. He loved fishing, hunting, gardening, logging, writing music, and scratching lottery tickets. But above all, his greatest joy came from spending time with his kids, grandkids, and brothers. Family was everything to him, and he showed that in the way he lived.

Peck had a way of making everyone feel welcome, whether it was through his humor, his stories, or the simple joy of sitting together after a long day.

He leaves behind countless memories, songs, and lessons that will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

A celebration of Peck's life will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Prairie Hill Christian Church under the direction of Summerville Funeral Home. Family and friends are invited to attend, share stories, and honor the man who meant so much to so many. Memorial contributions may be made to the Summerville Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
