A ceremony celebrating the life of Willard J. Sonnier will be held on Sunday December 22, 2024, at Indian Mound Baptist Church visitation will begin at 1:30 pm until time of service at 3:30 pm. Interment will follow at Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery, Greenwell Springs.
Mr. Sonnier was born on November 25, 1945, in Oakdale, LA and rested from this life on December 17, 2024, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center Baton Rouge at the age of 79 years.
He was a resident of Greenwell Springs, a member of Operating Engineers Local 406 for sixty years, a devoted member of Indian Mound Baptist Church, and an avid LSU fan.
He is preceded in death by his wife Linda G. Sonnier and parents Millard Sonnier and Rose Johnson Thibodeaux.
Survivors include his children Angela Sasser (Jon), Mike Sonnier (Monica), Tammie Lejeune (Kirk), and Kevin Sonnier.
His siblings Betty Wilson, Raymond Sonnier, Johnny Sonnier, and Millard Sonnier Jr.
His Grandchildren Jennifer Sasser (Lee), Keith Lejeune (Brittany), Hunter Lejeune (Kayleigh), Zachary Lejeune (Mandy), Sarah Basham (Daniel), Jacob Sonnier (Madison), Joey Sonnier (Jordan), Jordan Sonnier (Brooke), also survived by 17 great grandchildren, host of nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given that will be used by the family to honor Willard's life and memory.
