Willetta Inkrote Obituary

Published by Legacy on Oct. 1, 2025.
Willetta M. (Landis) Inkrote, age 85, passed away on September 7, 2025 at home after a courageous battle with cancer.
Willetta was born July 15, 1940 in York, PA to the late William and Etta (Garver) Landis. She cherished her unique name as it was derived from her parents' first names, William and Etta. She was preceded in death by her brother Stuart Landis and sister Dorcas Haverstick. A sister, Grace Gosnay, resides in Newark, Delaware.
Willetta is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Donald Inkrote along with their sons David Inkrote and his wife Beth of Loganville, Mike Inkrote and his wife Karen of Dallastown. Willetta leaves 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, plus one on the way, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Willetta graduated from William Penn Senior High School in 1958. She married Donald in 1959 and resided in the York area her entire life. She worked for McCrory's Distribution Center and retired from York County Probation Department as a secretary. She was a member of the former Bethany UCC in York and current member of Connection Christian Church in York.
After retirement, she and Donald traveled extensively throughout the US, with Willetta keeping a log of their adventures. They once drove throughout the US and Canada, reaching Alaska as their destination. They drove to different states in the South after disasters, helping local organizations with food and material distribution, relying on their van for camping accommodations. Willetta was very active in her children and grandchildren's lives. She and Donald would show up at youth sports games and school concerts to see the grandchildren perform. She loved family gatherings and enjoyed hearing what was going on in others' lives. She treasured her time serving children in the church nurseries.
She was a sweet, loving, caring person, and a bright light to everyone she knew. Willetta will be deeply missed.
Visitation will begin at 10:00am on Friday, September 19th at Connection Christian Church 2901 Pleasant Valley Rd, York, PA 17402 with services following at 11:00am. A luncheon will be served following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the church or York County SPCA.
Donald and family would like to thank Hospice Community Care for their compassionate care during Willetta's final weeks.
