Obituary published on Legacy.com by Plummer Funeral Home - Augusta on Apr. 8, 2025.
MANCHESTER-William Mitchell Allore Jr., 69, passed away on March 28, 2025 at the Togus VA Medical Center. He was born February 26, 1956 in Chelsea, Massachusetts, a son of Mary (Litz) and William M. Allore, Sr.
Known to all as Mitch, he grew up traveling extensively due to both of his parents' military careers. He graduated from Norco Senior High School in California. Afterward, he proudly served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. Following his honorable discharge, he pursued a bachelor's degree in computer science.
A passionate Harley Davidson rider, Mitch experienced his greatest happiness while cruising down the open road. He was an inspirational individual who took great pride in being a member of both the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion Posts. Additionally, he was actively engaged with the American Legion Riders. Mitch was deeply devoted to supporting veterans, dedicating himself to organizing many Patriot Honor Rides that served as heartfelt tributes to those who had passed away.
Besides riding his motorcycle, Mitch valued the moments he shared with his grandchildren. Whether they were coloring, savoring ice cream together, or just watching them play, he truly cherished those experiences.
He is survived by his children, grandchildren, and many friends.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 11, 2025 at 12noon at the Maine Veteran's Cemetery, 163 Mt. Vernon Rd., Augusta, ME 04330. Arrangements have been entrusted to: Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta, ME 04330.
