It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bernard Anthony Allore (Bernie), a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, who left this world on December 7, 2025, at the age of 93. Born in Dearborn, Michigan, on May 6, 1932. He was the son of George and Anna (Sherman) Allore. Bernie married the love of his life, Mary Ann Mulhern, on October 3, 1959. He lived a life marked by devotion to family, service to his community, and a deep commitment to his faith.
Bernie spent his early years as a Holy Cross Brother at St. Joseph’s Farm in Notre Dame, Indiana where his deep love of farming began. Brother Bernard embraced the strong sense of community found there, valuing the shared work, prayer, and fellowship that shaped his character. His deep love of God and unwavering commitment to service enriched his own life and touched the lives of all who knew him. Later, as a member St. Joseph Shrine Catholic Church and a proud Brother Knight of the Knights of Columbus-6223 Irish Hills Council, Bernie held firmly to his faith, finding strength in his parish community for nearly 30 years in Brooklyn, Michigan. Bernie spent the final two years of his life at St. Therese IHM Senior Living, where he developed strong and lasting friendships within his new senior community, adding another circle of love and companionship to his life.
His career as a custodial engineer at Lincoln Park Schools reflected an unwavering dedication to education and support for future generations. Coupled with his lifelong passion as a farmer, he cultivated not only the land but also strong values in those around him. His work ethic was a testament to the principles he instilled in his daughters and grandchildren, as he embraced every role he took on with pride and determination. As a father, his daughters are left with so many happy childhood memories and adventures spent with him.
Bernie leaves to cherish his memory, Mary Ann, his wife of the past 66 years; and his daughters, Barbara (Matt) Dame, Donna (Corey) Small, and Angela (Troy) Oliver. He is now reunited with his late daughter, Theresa (John) Meisenbacher, as well as his twin infant daughters, the late Mary Beatrice and Mary Ann.
He was a beloved grandfather to nine grandchildren and a great-grandfather to seven little ones, with one currently on the way. The love he shared with his family continues to shine brightly in their hearts.
Bernie was child number nine in a family of fourteen children. He is survived by his siblings, Agnes, James, Annette, and Tom (Mary) Allore. He was preceded in death by George, Vera, Ray, Joe, Rose, Mary, Therese, Francis "Stubb", and JoAnn, each of whom played a unique role in his life journey. Bernie lovingly documented many stories and humorous moments shared with his siblings, preserving them as a lasting gift for his family and all who knew him.
Bernie's enduring spirit will be remembered in the kindness shown and the lessons taught. He leaves behind a profound legacy shaped by love and faith, forever imprinted in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. As we mourn his loss, we also celebrate a life well-lived, filled with love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to Jesus.
