William J. Ament

William J. Ament, 79, of Rockton, passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2025. Born August 24, 1945, in Merrill, WI, the son of Harold H. and Helen A. (Mohrland) Ament. Graduate of Auburn High School, Class of 1964. Veteran of the U.S. Army. William married Christine A. Roesch on September 2, 1967. She predeceased him on September 23, 2006. He worked 31 years for Ingersoll Milling Machine Company before retiring in 2001. William was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where he served as an usher and elder.
Survived by his son, Aaron (Beth Johnson) Ament; siblings, Harold (Rachel) Ament, Joseph (Rita) Ament, Betty Hughes, and Jane (David) Terrell; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and special friends, Carolyn Redenius and Diane Elliott. Also predeceased by his parents.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am. on Thursday, April 3, 2025 at Fred C. Olson Chapel, 1001 Second Ave., Rockford. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 10:45 am. prior to the service. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Machesney Park, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Northern Illinois Hospice Foundation, 4751 Harrison Avenue, Rockford, IL 61108.
