William Anderson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Leach Family Funeral Home and Cremation - Caryville on Mar. 10, 2026.
It's with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of William Anderson, who departed this life on March 5, 2026, at the age of 83. Bill passed peacefully, surrounded by the love and warmth of his family, after a valiant battle with illness. His was a life marked by love, laughter, and an unyielding faith that carried him and his loved ones through life's trials and triumphs.

Born on May 7, 1942, William was a beacon of strength and kindness. He was predeceased by his beloved mother Vertie, sisters Helen,Bernice, and Myrtle and his brothers Kermit, Delmous, Lonnie, John Henry whose memory he cherished dearly. Bill was loved so much by his family, whose legacy lives on through his cherished wife, Dawn Anderson of Astor, Florida.

He is survived by his daughter, Misty Anderson, and her husband Daniel Leake of Franklin, Indiana. His son, Billy Anderson, carried his father's name and spirit forward, alongside his own family. The love Bill had for his grandchildren was immeasurable: Tommy, Jake (and wife Molly), Jimmy (and wife Elisa), and Kristen (and husband Dakota) brought him immense joy, as did Billy's children Natasha and Amber.

As a great-grandfather, Bill's heart swelled with pride and love for his great-grandchildren: Daisy, Emmy, River, Colten, Levi, and Sadie. Their laughter and presence were sources of great comfort and happiness in his later years.

Bill was an enthusiast of old western movies and the timeless charm of "The Andy Griffith Show," Bill found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He often spent his mornings sipping coffee, listening to the sweet strains of old country music, and reflecting on the many stories and memories he had gathered over the years.

His presence was a gift that will be profoundly missed, but his spirit will continue to dwell in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. A gentle soul with a heart full of generosity, Bill left an indelible mark on everyone he met, touching lives with his warmth and humor.

As we say goodbye to this remarkable man, we do so with gratitude for the time we shared and the love he gave so freely. His life was a testament to the power of kindness, family, and faith, and he will be forever remembered with love and admiration.

In honoring Bill's memory, the family will hold a celebration of his life at Mill Branch Cemetery on Friday, March 13th at 2pm, where family and friends will gather to share stories and honor a life well-lived.

May he rest in peace, held in eternal grace
