William Randall Barnes, age 68 of Hendersonville and Gallatin, TN passed away Tuesday, October 28, 2025. He was born December 30, 1956 in Nashville, TN to Lloyd Eugene and Etta Mae Barnes.
Growing up in Hendersonville and spending most of his youth there, he attended Hendersonville High School. Prior to his retirement from commercial construction as a superintendent, he left his mark working on many important construction projects including the Grand Ole Opry and many other Nashville landmarks. He loved being on the water, especially on Old Hickory Lake, fishing and spending time on the pontoon boat. His four-legged family member, Cooper could be found with him just about anytime. He also loved getting together for a meal and playing music with friends and family.
Randall was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Derek; and brothers, Lloyd and Stevie. He is survived by the mother of his children and best friend, Pamela Barnes; son, Corey (Tonya) Barnes; siblings, Donnie Barnes, Mike Barnes, Helen (Mike) Kelly, David Barnes, and Scott (Diane) Barnes; grandchildren Haley Barnes, Morgan Barnes, Chason Barnes, and Brooklyn Barnes; former daughter-in-law, Jennifer (Jay) McDougal; former sister-in-law, Eva Jean Bruce; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, extend family and friends.
A gathering to celebrate Randall’s life will be held 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Friday, November 14, 2025 at The Gathering Place, Gallatin, TN. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Humane Society of Sumner County.
