Born: August 9, 1959 in Huntsville, AL
Died: June 27, 2025 in Joliet, IL
William Walter Bartz (Bill), passed away at the age of 66 on June 27, 2025, in Joliet, Illinois.
Bill was born August 9, 1959, in Huntsville, Alabama, to the late Marjorie and Rudy Bartz. At a young age the Bartz family moved to Joliet, Illinois where Bill attended Troy Craughwell. After moving to Moline, Illinois Bill graduated from Moline High School in 1978. He served in the Army Reserves and graduated from St. Ambrose College in 1988 with a degree in Bachelor of Arts.
Bill is lovingly remembered by his siblings; Carlene Lietzow, Peggy Vrakas, Jim (Gail) Bartz, Carol Hedden, and Rick (Lynn) Bartz, and his beloved nieces and nephews; Vicki, Matthew, Suzanne, John, Kari, Christine, Karen, Kimberly, Mark, Luke, Danny and Kevin; numerous great grand nieces and nephews.
Bill enjoyed a varied life, full of energy and adventures. He loved music, the Cubs, the Bears, writing and dogs. He worked at a radio station with his own program, as a for hire DJ, worked retail, as a real estate sales person, entrepreneur and a myriad of other jobs.
A memorial service will be held at St John Lutheran Church, Joliet, on August 9, 2025 at 11am.
