William Emmett Baucum Jr.

William Emmett Baucum, Jr. "Bill" of Crossville, formerly of Tullahoma, passed away on Monday, May 5th, 2025 at Cumberland Medical Center at the age of 79. Mr. Baucum was born in Magnolia, AR to the late William E. Baucum, Sr. and Bronis Whittington Baucum. During his life he worked as an electrical engineer for both Y-12 in Oak Ridge, and later UTSI in Tullahoma until his retirement. Bill was a longtime member of the church of Christ at Cedar Lane in Tullahoma where he served as a Deacon, church treasurer, and helped with the benevolent program. He also attended Linary Church of Christ in Crossville. Mr. Baucum enjoyed collecting guns, and will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Paulette Baucum; and one brother, Eric Baucum. Mr. Baucum is survived by one son, William "Tres" Baucum III (Vicki); one daughter, Rebecca McDaniel (David); one brother, Gipson Baucum (Janita); five grandchildren, Phillip Reynolds (Britney), Kody McDaniel, Amber McDaniel, Mason Baucum (Caraline), and Ezekiel Baucum; and seven great-grandchildren, Anna, Landen, Estella, Ronan, Cassian, Aurelia, and Raiden. Visitation for Mr. Baucum will be held on Friday, May 9th, 2025 from 11:00am – 12:00pm at Kilgore Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow in the Kilgore Funeral Home chapel with Preacher Gipson "Sonny" Baucum officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens with Mason Baucum, Ezekiel Baucum, Josh Neal, Phillip Reynolds, Landen Murphy, and David McDaniel serving as pallbearers.
