Nancy Baucum Obituary
Visitation will be Saturday, January 31, 2026 from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church.
Burial will be in Family Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.
Bro. Beau Comeaux will officiate the service.
A native of Ponchatoula, LA, she was a teacher assistant at Southside Elementary School, a homemaker, and a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for several years. Nancy loved playing Bunco, spending time with her retired friends in the "Teachers With No Class Club", and with her sisters and grandchildren. She is fondly remembered for always sending cards and visiting family members. Nancy was an avid shopper and could always find the best sales. Her children would like to add that she earned her Doctorate in Perfect Parenting.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Milton Jackson Payne and Lula Catherine Eudy Payne; her sister, Becky Kinnison; and her daughter-in-law, Summer Baucum.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 57 years, J. W. Baucum; her daughters, Krissy (Larry) Maynard of Flowood, MS, and Lisa (Holden) Kincannon of Brentwood, TN; her son, Jared (Kelli Jo) Baucum of Celina, TX; her 8 grandchildren, Kolten (Haley) Maynard, Anna Grace (Peter) Bethea, Madeline (Peyton) Sullivan, Holden Kincannon IV, Jesse Kincannon, Jaxon Baucum, Jensie Baucum, and Sammi Jo Lyons; her 4 great grandsons, Luke and Hayes Maynard, and Jack and Hank Bethea; her brothers, Davis (Shirley) Payne and Jimmy (Cheryl) Payne; her sisters, Bobbie (Godfrey) Balfantz and Jackie Payne; and her numerous nieces and nephews.
